Mother finally got her wish of seeing an art museum on our trip. Some other ones we could have gone to were closed on Mondays, or weren’t part of the museum membership circle, so she was thrilled when we arrived at the Indianapolis Museum of Art, one of the top 10 art museums in the country.
Before that, however, we indulged Dad’s desire to see the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, site of the Indy 500.
The IMA was gorgeous. I felt like I was walking in a brochure—the wonderfully simple design of the place was refreshing.
Also, the history of fashion exhibit was pretty crazy. Dior is credited with creating the “New Look” of fashion, also known as the hourglass shape.
Okay fine, I guess this next photo is pretty cute.
Caroline and I are still better looking.
For dinner, we went to the Rathskeller restaurant for German sausage (!), Jägerschnitzel (!!), and German chocolate cheesecake (!!!). We stopped by the Circle Center Mall, and then braved a gigantic thunderstorm on the way back to the hotel.
