(Thanks, Em!)<\/p>\n<p>Following a red-eye journey from 7:30pm to 3:49am this morning, we have arrived in our first destination: Sandusky, Ohio. (I wonder if the town name has anything to do with Jerry Sandusky. He\u2019s certainly been all over the news here).<\/p>\n<p>Ben and my parents went to relax on the shores of Lake Erie for the day, leaving Caroline and me to spend all day at Cedar Point, billed as the Roller Coaster Capital of the World.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.amyyaodesign.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/IMG_6560.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-13 aligncenter\" title=\"IMG_6560\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.amyyaodesign.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/IMG_6560.jpg\" width=\"545\" height=\"363\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.amyyaodesign.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/IMG_6594.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-14 aligncenter\" title=\"IMG_6594\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.amyyaodesign.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/IMG_6594.jpg\" width=\"545\" height=\"363\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Caroline conquered her fear of roller coasters, and we managed to go on all 13 of the highest-rated coasters in the park, thanks to a heinously expensive FastLane pass.<\/p>\n<p>Our favorite turned out to be the Top Thrill Dragster, which looks just like Six Flags Great Adventure\u2019s Kingda Ka, painted yellow and orange. It was closed for most of the day, but when Caroline spotted the first populated car make its 120 mph ascension up the track, we sprinted back toward the line and made it on within 20 minutes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.amyyaodesign.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/top-thrill-dragster.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-26 aligncenter\" title=\"top thrill dragster\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.amyyaodesign.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/top-thrill-dragster.jpg\" width=\"545\" height=\"406\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0Photo Courtesy of Cedar Point<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The entire ride only lasts about 20 seconds, and the hydraulic system accelerates you from 0 to 120 mph in four seconds, before shooting you up 400 feet into the air and plummeting you straight down.<\/p>\n<p>We ended up going twice, and would have probably continued to get in line, but we had to get back to the hotel.<\/p>\n<p>1 day down, 27 to go!
