Day 17: Grand Canyon, Part 1

Hello, Grand Canyon!

We toured the North Rim today, hiking to Bright Angel Point (which offered gorgeous views), before being rained out by a torrential downpour that swept in.

We stopped by a watchtower that looked just like the Lovegood’s house in Harry Potter.

Interestingly enough, though the North Rim and the South Rim of the Grand Canyon are only ten air miles apart, one must drive for five hours from one to the other. It started hailing as we were driving out to the South Rim, and the storm continued at the South Rim, making it difficult to see much of anything.

At least there were the Olympic gymnastics team finals to round out the evening!
